Ani DiFranco with Special Guest Pieta Brown

Date: Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Showtime: 8:00 PM

In NO WALLS AND THE RECURRING DREAM, DiFranco’s prose is as incisive and poetic as her songs, combining hard-won wisdom and personal expression, to convey the power of music, feminism, political activism, storytelling, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and much more. Passionate and candid, she shares her inspiring and radical story of coming-of-age to thirty—from being an emancipated minor sleeping in a Buffalo bus station, to releasing her first album at the age of 18, to consciously rejecting the mainstream recording industry and creating Righteous Babe Records.

In addition to her musical success, DiFranco has tirelessly worked for reproductive rights, racial justice, ecological sanity, gender equality and prison reform. NO WALLS AND THE RECURRING DREAM confronts these issues and chronicles how DiFranco became a prominent activist, from learning the art of political engagement at the New School to performing at Carnegie Hall two weeks after 9/11 where she debuted the anti-war poem “Self Evident.”
