Big Daddy’s having a birthday. What lies will be uncovered and what passions will explode as the family gathers at their Mississippi cotton plantation in the Young Vic’s sizzling production of Tennessee William’s classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which was filmed by NT Live and will be screened at the Bing Crosby Theater as part of the Bing's Stage to Screen series on Sunday, April 15 at 2 pm.

The powerful cast, headed by Sienna Miller as Maggie the Cat, Jack O’Connell as Brick and Colm Meaney as Big Daddy, brings “combustible conviction to a smoldering classic”, according to NYTimes critic Ben Brantley. The future of the family is at stake as Brick and Maggie dance around the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage.

Brick spends a lot of time naked in the onstage shower, trying to wash away his feelings of guilt and impotence, but as Maggie tries fiercely to bring him out of his alcoholic stupor, and Big Daddy comes face to face with his imminent mortality, will the family survive? As Brantley concludes, “Life never glows more fiercely than in the shadow of death.”

This production, as part of Friends Of the Bing’s Stage to Screen Series will screen at The Bing Crosby Theater on Sunday April 15th at 2:00 PM. Tickets for adults are $13 online and $15 at the door. Students are $7 online and $9 at the door. This show is sponsored by the The Northwest Museum of Arts & CultureBozzi Media, and Ruby Hospitality.
